The original skaterhappy card game

By Skaterhappy

The Original Skateboarding Card Game was conceived in Afghanistan when a passionate Skater, on a mission and away from home, had the strong desire to feel the emotion of Skateboarding. Although riding his board was not an option, the tricks did not stop flowing in his mind, every time a bunker or T-Wall was spotted, a trick was inevitably created in his imagination. This game is the result of breaking down the creative process of skateboarding, allowing players to experience the excitement that skaters feel when formulating their tricks in the real life. It doesn't matter if you can jump or not. This is our language, our way of expressing the Art of Skateboarding action in our own words.

The following instructions refer to the Action Game Mode. If you want to learn how to play as a table game, follow this link for the Original Game Mode instructions.

Game Objective

The game is played in rounds. In each round, 3 cards are revealed, a trick is chosen, and the player tries to perform it to win the cards in play. When the cards in the deck run out, the player with the highest score wins the game.

Total of 54 Cards

  • 10 Spot Cards (Not aplicable in Action Game Mode)

  • 22 Jump Cards

  • 2 Manual Cards

  • 4 Grab Cards

  • 4 Grind Cards

  • 5 Slide Cards

  • 7 Lucky Cards (Not aplicable in Action Game Mode)

Game Setup

Remove the Spot and Lucky Cards from the deck as they are not compatible with this game mode. Optionally you can also remove other categories such as Slide, Grind and Manual Cards if you do not have the physical spot to perform these types of tricks.

Players choose their turn by drawing a card and comparing it to the others'. The highest scorer goes first. The others take turns in descending order. If two players tie, they draw another card. When you're done, put the cards back in the deck and shuffle.

The player with the highest score starts the game by revealing three cards from the deck and leaving them visible to the other players. From these three cards the player may choose to execute on his skateboard the trick of his choice from the possible combinations indicated on the cards. The trick may consist of only one card or a combination of two or three cards.

Each player shall have a maximum of two continuous attempts to perform the trick. The trick must be performed in a single move, the execution of two discontinuous tricks is not allowed.

If the player in turn succeeds in performing the trick correctly, he/she will take the corresponding cards, leaving the unperformed trick cards available for the next player to perform his/her attempt with them.

The following example shows the cards combination of a Kickflip + Front Side Pop Shuvit 360, leaving the Fakie Ollie Card unattempted for the next player to try.

The round ends when all three cards have been drawn or once all players have made their two attempts. If there are still cards at the end of the round, discard them.

The next player draws three cards and tries to execute their trick as before. Players take turns until the deck is empty.

Show time!

When the deck is empty, the players count their points. The winner is the player with the highest score.
